Hello I wanna know If you can help me..

I wanna bought a Flying V, but  i don't have much money for Gibson, so there are two solutions:

- Epiphone Flying V:SOLID ALDER BODY /ALL MAHOGANY SET NECK/FULL 24 3/4" SCALE/WIDTH @ NUT / 1.6875"
  ROSEWOOD FRETBOARD/MED-JUMBO FRETS/DOT INLAY FRET MARKERS/CHROME STOPTAIL &TUNE-O-MATIC
 BRIDGE/SEALED CHROME TUNERS/2 OPEN COIL HUMBUCKING PICK UPS/2 VOLUME & 1 TONE W/ 3 WAY SWITCHING

- Dean Michael Schenker Baby: 3/4 SIZE BODY, CONTOURED TOP & BASSWOOD BODY,BLACK HARDWARE,    TUNE-O-MATIC BRIDGE, BOLT ON NECK, ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD, ABALONE DOT INLAYS.

What do you think about these two guitars?? The Epiphone is more cost-effective than Dean but it is Ltd .Edition..Althrough,I Think that stock pickups will be not powerful, and of course i will replace...so ,what do you suggest for a AceFrehley/Michael Schenker and John Sykes/Gary moore  sound'?? I mean, A classic '59 tone on the neck and a more powerful sound on the bridge?? I also love Lynyrd Skynyrd Gibson Sound...

I'd go Epiphone and BKP Black Dog pickups
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

Thank you for the replies..But why you suggest epiphone?? Dean Neck Bolt-on is not good?? Alder is better than basswood??

if i were you i'd save up for a vee with a mahogany body and set neck, that isn't a gibson... If not then later you'll regret it and blame anything thats lacking in ur tone on the fact that ur guitar has the 'wrong' wood or neck joint - and thats just no good.

what is the difference of sound with Emerald and Black Dog?? Can Someone post some soundclip for an Emerald or Black Dog On the neck??

The Epiphone gets my vote too.

I am a bit of a Schenker nut but even so would go for the Epi as i think that that particular model is a better choice. They modify well with pickup changes too.

The more expensive Deans however might tempt me (though to be fair i would make my own)

I rather liked the Goth flying V that Epi do as well....

y personal favorite V of all time is the (old) Duesenberg Rocket. It's a bit expensive but drop dead gorgeous. Even has a Bigsby option.




The new version is a bit different. I prefer the old one.
