Painkiller does Alt Rock? Yes, yes it does!
« on: June 09, 2019, 04:51:10 AM »
Had a little inspiration recently, and I ran with it! Normally, I do everything with my 8-string, but the melody sounded so good with my PK-equipped 7, I figured I use it for everything!

In case the attachment doesn't work, here's a link: https://eightfoldpathmusic.bandcamp.com/track/in-the-dark

For the gear nerds among us (of which I am one), here's the specs:

ESP LTD M-207 - basswood body, maple/rosewood neck; upgraded with an OFR and, of course, a BKP Painkiller set
Positive Grid BiasFX2 - Soldano SLO model, pretty much default, except for their tone-matched TS808 boost and some delay
Reaper DAW - no EQ except for a little hipass/lopass on the guitars, and a little EQ/comp on the Master channel

A note; the strings are Stringjoy 9.5-58, and were quite dead, but it still came out sounding pretty good, I think.  I was pretty happy with the result, anyway. Painkiller - not just for metal anymore!
LTD M-207: Painkiller bridge, Painkiller neck
