Collings 290dc.  Best made guitar Iíve ever owned.  It came with Lollar alnico pole P90s.  I liked the ideal of them for cleans and note separation but found them really disappointing. In fact I have had three different sets of highly recommended Lollarís that have all disappointed me including the gold foils and the jazz masters.  When I pulled out the alnico pole P90s I saw why... they donít have a bar magnet on tue bottom so theyíre not really a P90 at all.  Theyíre wound like a Jazzmaster but but not quite as short and fat and presumably with a different wire than a JM.  So they have a little more grind than a  but not much.  I personally donít see why his stuff gets so much hype.  I sort of felt ripped off getting a used guitar with a P90 variant thatís not really a P90 at all.

What guitar do you have it in?

The Stockholm certainly has more bottom end than the Nantucket.  AC/DC doesn't have much bottom end.

AC/DC = PAF's in SG > Marshall JTM 45. 2203 and 1959 and a few other Marshall-amps. That's mids/midhigh into mid/midhigh amps.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

You might want to put an EQ pedal BEFORE the amp for the AC/DC stuff to tone down the bottom end and boost the highs a wee bit.

In general expecting a pickup to nail AC/DC and Black Sabbath at the same time might be a big ask.  An EQ could help.

Agreed.  I was pretty much asking about the range of the Stockholms with the assumption that doing a convincing AC/DC wasn't ideal with these pickups.  That turned out to be the case.  It's ok... I bought them because I wanted something beefier than my Nantuckets, and that's what I got.  I can actually do a pretty decent AC/DC with the Nantuckets.  I can do I pretty decent Sabbath with the Stockholms now, as long as I don't get too uppity (my talent isnt there even if my tone is).  I also have some HBs that can handle thrash and more vintage PAF stuff.  So I think I'm pretty well covered now.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, usually one guitar can not do all. You got a fine collection, so let's rock!
