Pickup for PRS SE Custom 24
« on: July 24, 2019, 02:50:21 PM »
Hi guys!

I'm looking for new pickups for my PRS SE Custom 24 as I don't like the stock 85/15 "S" very much. The guitar has a mahagony body, maple top and neck, a rosewood fretboard and a floyd rose.

I have an other Custom 24 with the same specs with the PRS \m/ (metal) pickups in the bridge and neck (ceramic, 15.7k treble, 8.5k bass, if that helps... ^_^).
I really love those pickups for the power and definition they have. So I'm looking for something similar in terms of how well they cut through the mix and general feel.

I will use the guitar mostly as a backup and practice-guitar for my band. We play modern voiced metal with influences from thrash, powermetal and metalcore and have our guitars in D standard tuning.

For the bridge i was looking into Nailbomb, Painkiller and also Ragnarok. But can't decide whats best suited for me.
For the neck I have no idea - too much choice! It schould go well with the bridge and have a nice clear lead-tone with great sustain.

Has anyone experiences with the PRS \m/ pickups and what would you recommemd me with similar qualities?
What are your suggestions generaly?! :)

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

I think a painkiller set should work well
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat
