LTD EC1000 - EMG to Warpig conversion help required.
« on: October 17, 2019, 06:42:15 PM »
Hey I've got nothing against EMGs, I have them in other guitars, but I want to swap the pups around in a couple of my guitars as I feel the Warpigs are better suited to this Eclipse.

I knew from earlier inspection that the EMGs have the solder less quick connects on so I was expecting the rest of the loom to be that kind of plug and play system. I was expecting to have to replace ALL the electronics and cabling.

On inspection inside of the rear wiring I just find normal looking pots and switches. From memory of getting the cheap Ibanez actives out of the guitar that the warpigs currently reside in, I seem to remember these pots are going to be no good for passive pickups.

So I'm thinking I can use the Loom from the switch down to the pickup cavity and the input jack?
I just think I need to get 3 new 500k pots.

Does this sound about right?

Thanks for any advice you can give.
