Anderson H1- and H3+ Suggestions
« on: March 11, 2020, 05:52:17 PM »
I have a PRS Modern Eagle II which is a very dark guitar.  I currently tune to C# Standard and use this for A Perfect Circle style sounds with my Friedman Naked.  I am looking for a recommendation on which pickups I should look into.

I do have a set of H1- and H3+ pickups that I could install however i just much prefer the look of BKP pickups.  I cannot find any specs on these anderson pickups, but i know the H1- is very vintage, and the H3+ is very hot.

From the Anderson Website:

H 1-: The perfect neck pickup to balance with the H2+ or H2 at the bridge, full, throaty neck humbucker tones that are never bloated, open, clear and rich, splits really well.

H 3: Thicker, fuller and hotter than the H2+, this is where musical legato begins. Makes the picking hand feel completely fluid while still presenting more than just midrange-only tone.

H 3+: A step up from the H3 with a touch more gain and low end power.

I don't think there's any BKP model that's real similar to the Andersons, specially the H3+
The closest would probably be the Ceramic Warpig, but it has a more a aggressive and less smooth voicing
I'd try something fat and modern sounding like the True Grit set or the Silo set
Haven't owned the Silos, but the True Grits definitely works for APC stuff
