Gahhh! don't you just hate it when...
« on: April 28, 2006, 11:24:38 PM »
a really, really cr@ppy band/pop group splits up, you think "awesome, no more of their cr@p!" and then every single damn member starts their own group, so you get subjected to three or four times the amount of cr@p?

the spice girls did it, and now bloody busted are at it- fightstar, son of dork, and now that bassist idiot (can't remember his name, I'm glad to say)- and to make matters worse, the bassist dude is going out with emma griffiths (the uber-babe from MTV).

Gah, is there no justice?

And in a side note, is anyone else sick of the cr@ppy competitions on Kerrangggg! and Scuzz?

"win a signed sepultura cymbal!"

yeah, cos that's a lot of use...

"win a guitar signed by fallout boy!"

Screenshot pans to the "squier affinity" logo on the headstock...

Now OK, I'm biased, because let's face it, I don't see why anyone would want to own anything signed by fallout boy, ever, excepting perhaps an affidavit in which they solemnly promise not to write or play any more music...

But come on- even if it was someone I liked/respected, I'd much prefer a non-signed, decent guitar, than a bottom of the range plank of cardboard that's been signed by some famous dude...

Maybe that's just because I play guitar- I'd assume these comps are aimed at non-musicians (more than likely when fallout boy is involved...   )...

Ah well, rant over. Feel free to agree with me...

Man, I love this dressing room- cheers, Ol!

 :D

hahah yeah its like all those cr@ppy bands/guitarists getting sig guitars etc. I mean how the hell do the guys from Good Charlotte deserve their own sig guitars? Mind you their sig guitars are ugly but thats not the point..

That is pretty annoying but i don't listen to or watch music television that much any more. I'm more interested in watching something decent  :D

I hate it more when bands claim they have gone 'back to their roots'. Sepultura being one band. Every album after Max left has been boring. The new stuff sounds just like the last album but more boring.

A certain other band that begins with M...    are the same.

yeah, I pretty much find myself drifting towards kerrang (against my better judgement these days...) and scuzz (where you have a half chance of something decent every fifth song) because of the ubiquitous adverts on damn sky...

but yeah, most music tv sucks...

EDIT: just to point out, I'm not slagging drums with the sepultura bit, I used to play, and intend to get a set sooner or later- I mean a solitary cymbal, if you have no kit or cymbal stand, is about as much use as something not very useful...

i havent watched TV for about a year now  I'll tell yu what though - i don't want anything signed by anyone famous - i couldnt care less whose written on anything. In fact the only reason i'd ever get anything signed is if i thought it'd sell for more than usual on evilBay

i hate fall out boy with a vengence. the girl i live with loves them. all she plays is utterly disgusting excuses for music like panic at the disco ,dashboard confessional, hey mercedes, fall out theory, blah blah blah

honestly i sometimes would genuinly be subject to  a world where 50cent was my dad and nelly my brother then listen to that cr@p!!

i completely agree with you dave and we need some way of stopping this.
i don't know how but i was thinkin along the lines of smashing their stupid instruments across their stupid heads....

^ haha thanks sambo!

yeah, panic at the disco are pretty awful...

and this time last year i thought the killers/the bravery (are they one band or two?   ) were pretty bad...

why is it every time a fad comes around that sucks, there's a new one waiting that comes later that's even worse?

when i see them on kerrang every so often, I find myself muttering "you know, limp bizkit weren't actually all THAT bad, compared to the cr@p we have to put up with now..."

(bar metalcore, which is actually not too bad, but that's probably because it hasn't reached fad status over here, and by the looks of things, isn't likely to...)

It's sad to say that I am scared of saying this but you are more likely of hearing challenging music on Radio 2 rather than Radio 1, what happened to youth these days.

Thank dog for Radio 6 and the Freak Zone.

Why does so much 'urban' or alleged RnB get played on radio 1 when they have a second radio 1 station dedicated to that sh1te ?

Is this political correctness gone mad, catering for the oppressed Saines Massaves of the world ?

Between that and the DJ stuff my daughter thinks thet she likes (though their names amuse me to death, I'm waiting for somthing like DJ Bathroom Suite & the Bog Squad)

It wouldn't be do bad but all they have done is rape and pillage the 70s & 80s.
