Im looking at a few tube gutar preamps to warm up my marshall combo with. I might later look into making my own rack set up around it but for now im just lookin to use it as a preamp for my existing set-up. So yeah, im thinkin about either an ENGL E 350, Marshall JMP-1 Midi or a Mesa/Boogie Recto Recording Pre. Right now im realy feelin the Mesa just cause im realy into the idea of building a big set up with like a marshall 100/100 power amp around it. Price wise im thinkin I would rather buy somethin used from ebay or sumthin for around like 600-700 bucks. American bucks  . I understan a new ENGL E350 costs around $550 so thats a big plus for me. Like I said before though, ultimately i think I would realy enjoy the Mesa most out of all these. Unfortunatly though, from what I understand these usualy go for around $1000 + new and I can pretty much assume based off of this that a used one would prob still cost me around 700-800 plus dollars second hand. I would realy appreciate any input ya'll can provide on this decision, thanks.

Could look into the ADA MP preamps. I used the MP-1 pre amp in the effects loop of a JCM900 i used to have. Sounded alot better than the stock marshall sound. Could be found for like $170ish on ebay.

anybody tried the JMP-1? Does it realy have all the "classic" Marshall sounds?
