Bkp to replace Suhr SSV neck in Suhr modern plus
« on: July 15, 2020, 12:57:58 AM »
The SSV is a bit too muddy for my tastes and also looking for something that gets close to strat territory when split.

I believe the SSV is about 8k, and Alnico V.

Anyone have recommendations?

Thx, B

Personally I don't like most splitted neckhumbuckers. They often sound weak and not close enough to a real strat. If you really want a splitted tone in the neck, I would look by example at a VHII neckhumbucker. It does a reasonable strat-ish tone when splitted.

Another route: choose a neckhumbucker with enough sparkle in humbuckermode. That would be a RiffRaff.

Riff Raff is deffo the brightest neck pup in the range. That would be my #1 choice
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus
