Riff Raff bridge in the neck?
« on: April 02, 2021, 12:43:17 AM »
Anyone done this? how does it compare to other neck models?
I would really like a riff raff with a little more body to it. I have Emerald and Abraxas necks but what I'm wanting is different from those.

Thanks!

I've never tried it, but this reminds me that supposedly in the old days, there were no neck and bridge PAFs, they were all just thrown together and used wherever.  Besides Bare Knuckles I'm also a big fan of Suhr products, and supposedly the Aldrich neck pickup (their highest output neck) is just a SSV bridge pickup (their lowest output bridge in the SS range).  So go ahead and try it.

I did, and it was fine, but it (expectedly) wasn't a good match to the c-pig I had in the bridge at the time
it sounded a lot like a neck vhII, but brighter
it probably would've work well with the rebel yell I have in the bridge now
the neck vhII also sounds amazing in the bridge (I like it better than the bridge vhII)
