Very interesting indeed. I usually install the Hipshot Tremsetter. Let us know how good this new device is.

hey thats weird - i JUST finished reading an email from Kevan telling me it's out!
I'm so excited, hehe. Kev's a great guy and I'm convinced he's gonna make a LOT of money with this - its one of those "why didn't i patent that?" inventions!

the trem setter does the same thing but leaves ur guitar floating? at all times, im afraid this tremel-no isnt quite as cool in my opinion.

i've got tremsetters on my guitars and they do the same job but more versitile and on the fly.

^yeah, but doesn't the tremsetter affect the feel of the trem?

this one shouldn't, because there aren't any springs in it.

Of course, I agree that it's not perfect...

Tremsetter avantage: you can drop tune and stay floating.

Can it absorb a string break? I doubt it, but I've never tried one.

The tremolno doesnt need any alteration to the guitar. Its a straight swap for the spring claw. No drills :D. It will take a string break if locked, but not in floating, obviously.

And as dave says, it doesnt change the feel of the trem. Thats a good or bad thing depending how you look at it, I suppose.

It's a bad thing for me, because I like my trems to be uber-responsive, but obviously for someone else, mightn't be such a big deal...

for me, if it does what it says on the tin, it's probably as close to perfect as I could get, without affecting the trem feel.

 :D

EDIT: i think i've heard that the tremsetter can absorb a string break, mark, but again I've never tried one, so you'd need to get someone like james or cattivo to say for certain.

In my experience tremsetters don't like string breakages. I was never keen on the feel either so took it off in the end!
