Strat Pickup suggestion
« on: September 28, 2021, 09:37:44 PM »
Hi everyone, I am looking for suggestions for strat pickups and which ones to get.  I have a american pro 2 strat with a maple neck and alder body, and a blues jr amp.  My favorite guitarists are John Fruiscante, Eric Clapton, Rory Ghalegar, Mark Knopfler, and SRV.  I am trying to get something that will be vintage sounding, as versitile as possible and I am between the two ideas of:

1) neck pickup: mothers milk
Middle pickup: 63 vaneer board
Bridge pickup: irish tour
baseplate in bridge, vintage stagger, RWRP

2)neck pickup: mothers milk
Middle pickup: irish tour
Bridge pickup: slow hand
baseplate in bridge, vintage stagger, no RWRP

Any suggestions are much appreciated.  Cheers!

Yeah you can mix various pickups when the positions 2 and 4 matter less. I have IT's and MM's. The latter is quite close to the 63 Veneer Board. Keep in mind the Slowhand goes a bit towards a P90.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
