Arrived home last night-Mon. the 8th-
to mountains of repair work...
Fair enough -the money is sorely needed!
So after a few days of catching up, I'm launching some new building projects-
Acquired two sustainer systems-
Fernandes FSK-101,& FSK-401-
have a mind to set these up in conjunction with BK pickups ,
most likely Warpigs, and Nailbombs...
Also some 7 string projects-have a Floyd 7, and a fixed bridge that I want to use, but we'll see if I ever build them again-I've played 7 & 8 stringed instruments, and I'm not so sold on the 'one guitar for all gigs'/ "Swiss Army Knife" concept-rather think guitars are like golf irons, or paint brushes- Choose the right one for the desired effect-SPECIALIZED.
hmmm....Reaching over 7 strings to riff on the 8th is not as comfortable as a cruising on a thinner necked 6 string,
-unless you do it all the time.
-If you do, you may be dependent on specialized instruments, and unable to borrow, or sub on the gear of others-this can present problems in the real world...
- still a lot of bass players using 4 strings for example, and if they got chops, I guarantee you won't be missing any music coming out-
More strings does not mean more succulent music.
I'm feeling more inspired to build , than to buy, based on what I've seen at the show-Don't get me wrong, there was definately some cool axes-
Black Machine, Feline, and Nathan Sheppard for me...
We all do our different things, and there is a place for us all in this mad, mad world.
Can't wait to get caught up, and therefore get started...
Was a positive thing for me to attend LGS-
inspired to get busier....
