First BKP's

OK, been here WAY long enough without officially joining the club.
I cannot wait till I get back to ole Blighty so need some BKP's NOW!

I have just "stolen" this (yah boo sucks yes it's poplar body   ).

Now,
I have spoken to the PUP God, aka Tim and he recommended the newly voiced Holy Diver, but in the spirit of "more opinions the better" let ya'll chime in.

It will not probably be my #1 guitar (love my JP6 way too much), more a "chugger"/"backup"/"beater". Yes will wanna solo on it but not exactly "shred" (not to my mind anyway).

I am looking for Hetfield (Metallica), Mustaine,Tool,Anthrax, Glenn Tipton (Kill or Be Killed, Baptism of Fire), Wylde, heavy sound that can cut through without being muddy.

I was thinking Warpig (due to clips here), but the Master reckons Holy Diver.

So what do you lot think should take my proverbial BKP cherry?

Oh yeah, want em in Burnt Chrome covers.

Cheers,
Nick

When Tim speaks I always listen...

But just maybe think about a Nailbomb?

Bah!  What would he know about BKPs?

You know, I'd go for one of the two you mentioned - HD or WP.

LOL
lotta help you guys are  :P

I am gonna "finnese" with the JP6 (well, when I get good enough to play like it anyway).
As the SG is not a "real" SG and not mahogany thought Riff Raffs would be not so good (however much I love AC/DC).
Just not exactly looking for 80's semi Hair Band sound, which the unfortunate naming HD sounds, though "whats in a name" ? :)

I will (hopefully) be getting an Engl Blackmore head and 2x12 vintage cab (upon return) and wanna keep it like that, I LOVE K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid, thought better spell it out for Sambo ;)).

So, want a heavy/thick tone to kinda sonically hurt lol. I mean the thing is abit rad. anyway, so should have the balls to back up it's looks :)

Also, fully intend on Painkillers for JP6 when they materialise and want a very diff. tone so not similar guitar noises.

Hmmmm, Tim is Da Man though, and NO clips of new HD yet.

Darn, harder than it looks this.

Also, I assume I might as well change the pots whilst doing this? (my first time but am an electrician so not skeered :)).

Anything else y'all could recommend?

A diver and an electrician!  You know, that doesn't sound like such a good combination.  :o  ;)

Hey, you sound like you're trying to get us to talk you into the Warpigs.  And, as much as Tim is quite able to recommend a pickup that will capture the bands you've named, if it's Warpigs you want, you'll most likely be happy with them as well--just the psychological side of things will probably assure that.  I'm of the opinion that you can't go wrong either way.  So why not pick one that doesn't bring on 80s flashbacks?  :)

Is that more what you had in mind?  ;)

Searcher, I guess (even though the PC and it's limitations is'nt great) the lack of any HD clips is a factor.
As guys we are tactile wanting to touch, see, hear etc. So I guess thats a factor.
Tim has'nt done this well thus far for no reason :)

Just the name, ugh!
I grew up a BIG Steve Clark fan so when he passed and Campbel took his place , ugghhh "shiver". Ah well, whats in a name right :)

Just wanna make sure they are more modern than classic as I have classic plans for other guitars :)

Get the new Holy Diver.  I picked mine up at LGS, though Ben has 'borrowed' it to try it out since I won't be back in the US until Sunday night!
So many pickups, so little time
