Cort G290 FAT - anyone upgraded the pickups with BKs?
« on: June 24, 2022, 01:31:02 PM »
I really enjoy playing my Cort G290 FAT but the humbucking pickups are kind of 'dark' sounding.  I play pop, blues, rock, and would like to swap them out for something sounding like 'normal' humbuckers.  Has anyone with a G290 swapped the pickups?  Or has anyone any recommendations from the BK range?  Thanks!

It took me a while to find something on the specs of the VT-77 pickups wihich are supposedly in your guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhfo8c0QlEw.

I would go for something vintage for the neck and vintage hot for the bridge if you want something brighter than the stock pickups. Unfortunately most BKP humbuckers I tried were vintage hot and contemporary models so others may be more qualified to make suggestions.
