Polymath or Silo in Ibanez RG5320L
« on: July 26, 2022, 12:35:41 AM »
Long time lurker and admirer - bit overwhelmed listening to sound clips so wanted some advice from other users.

I'll be looking to replace the stock Dimarzio Edge Fusions on a lefty RG5320 I have on order (mahogany body with ash? cap, macassar ebony fb, edge lopro, super wizard maple neck).

I lean heavier in terms of music, but versatility is front of mind - want this one to be equally happy going from shredding to split coil funk.

I've narrowed it down to these two - anyone have any thoughts? Anyone else using them in an RG?

Much appreciated!

I'd try the Silo first. You can find them stateside for sale whereas the polymath is still hard to find unless you order direct from BKP. The Silo is my fav and while I don't have an RG I've seen the silo work well in all kinds of different guitars, it's insanely versatile. The Polymath can be a bit more picky about what guitar it sounds best in. Go with the silo.
Currently: Silo, Rebel Yell, Crawler, VHII, Juggernaut, Holy Diver, Impulse, Cold Sweat neck, Impulse neck, Aftermath neck.
Formerly: C-Bomb, Piledriver, Cold Sweat, Mule, all my non-BKPs 😉

Thanks for weighing in! Unfortunately I'm in Australia, so getting them out is difficult. Trying them, even more so as I'm left handed, so even if I found someone with em...
