I'm considering a set of BKP's for my new Gibson Les Paul Standard, a friend of mine is now a convert to BKP and I'm impressed with them myself.
I have a Epi Les Paul Standard which I changed the pickups on years ago. Put in 2 Seymour Duncan 59's in both bridge and neck positions.. and they sound great. I'd like a similar sound on my new new Gibby.
I'm finding my Gibson pickups, when put up against the BKP Emeralds of my mate just dont cut it.
I like the SD 59's, plenty of mid growl, not overly bassy, and lovely cutting highs... output is also pretty high too.. overall they are just what I'm looking for.
Trouble is, I cant quite make out which Bare Knuckles to opt for to emulate this kind of tone?? Help! And before you say it.... I don't want to buy another set of Seymour Duncans.... I like what Bare Knuckle are all about, and going by what I've heard, they blow Seymour Duncan away!
I'm currently playing through a Marshall TSL60 head with 4x12 angled 1960's cab, dont use any stomp overdrive/distortions etc, prefer to use the amp for overdrive.... thats why I bought a Marshall Triple after all!!
Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks
