Next step up from True Grits?

I love the responsiveness from my True Grits in one of my Les Pauls. But for something different in another Les Paul, I'm thinking about another BNP set to replace the Burstbucker 61r & 61t humbuckers.

Do you think the Nailbombs would be one step up from True Grits? If not, what else has the growl yet touch sensitivity to cover hard rock, metal, stoner metal songs?

Hi,

The Nailbomb would certainly be a "step up" from the True Grit and would work quite well going by your description.

I would also have a look at the Cold Sweat - https://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/pickup/humbucker/cold-sweat

The Cold Sweat is of similar output but uses a Ceramic magnet. This means it will drive the mids and highs and little more and tighten the bass response to keep good sensitivity.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've been obsessed lately with all the options that Bare Knuckle offers. As soon as I think I've made a decision to purchase a set, I listen to another sample and change my mind!

Cold Sweat, A-Bomb, C-Bomb, Miracle Man, Holy Diver, Brute Force, Silo... they are sound great.

I currently use some Seymour Duncan Customs in a few guitars. They are great and are dynamic. I'd like something similar to compliment them, but something also different. The True Grit's I have in a Les Paul have that great touch sensitivity to them, but I guess they'd be slightly a touch below the Custom. So I guess I've pivoted to leaning toward what would be a level up from the SD Custom?

the ceramic version of the nailbomb has a somewhat similar curve to the sh-5, but i's a louder, sharper and less compressed pup
compared to the cold sweat, it's punchier, fuller and a little darker on the mids
