Polymath Pickup Hieght
« on: March 06, 2023, 05:55:32 PM »
Hi , can anyone advise on the best pickup height for the Neck pickup Polymath please?. I have the bridge dialed in ( Gibson specs ), and sound awesome, but the neck is lacking in something?

Unless someone has your exact guitar, rig/setup and ears, no one can really advise better than your ears! Pickup height is subjective, and what sounds good to someone else in their guitar through their setup might not work for you.

All you need to do is spend 20 minutes experimenting, rather than waiting hours for some stranger on the internet to give you a magic answer.

Make a note of the current height, then try raising or lowering it a couple of turns (depending on whether you think it needs more oomph or more openness), see what you think of it, then go a bit further. You'll work out when you've gone too far and then you can just go back on yourself a bit.
