I know the feeling - I'm a pretty shitety player myself; and sometimes when i see really great players with worse gear than me i feel kind of guilty... But i've been thinking about it and i've decided it's okay because i know i enjoy playing more than them :P and having nice gear inspires me to play more and get better. 8)

Yup think the same....the guild bluesbird was a bargain(less than half price) not something I could usually afford, but goes nice with my gibsg(Crawlers), parker fly(Nailbomb 2 irish)and my bass, sixstring and twelve string accoustic.
As I see it I ain't great but enjoy playing guitar and would rather spend on this than other things like getting p****d every weekend or turning my car into an oversized meccano kit *L*

Agreed.

I'm pretty pleased when my wife and dogs don't run from the room in obvious sonicly induced pain.

Occassionally I'lll even get the treat of being told that "sounded almost like music, dear." :)

I just had an interesting covo on the phone with a woman (a real one!) who is a music teacher. She plays the flute in an orchestra too and her one is solid silver and cost 4.5 grand! Her mate's just bought a cello made in the 1800's for 18 grand! So what we spend on gear is small change really so that means gas is great!!! I'll have a Zemantis with solid platinum covered Crawlers then!

That's serious money for a fiddle! I've got one with a split in it that someone gave me. I can't get a single note out of it!
