These pickups are hailed as gods by fender. I was just wondering if they are equivelant to BKP's?

well, i don't think BK do any noiseless pickups 'cos tim says the tone suffers, so that's a start...

I dunno about any models of equivalent output or tone, I'd wait till some of the more knowledgeable guys chime in (it's so long ago since I tried the SCN's, too, I can barely remember what they sounded like, lol)

Somarium cobalt is just a very cheap magnet... nothing special at all. Im shure they do what they say (be noiseless) but they shure as hell won't sound like strat pickups!

I have SCN's in my AM Strat, and I don't like the sound into my DRRI at all. There's no mids. When I say no mids I mean no mids, no warmth whatsover. I never wanted to sound like Albert Collins!

The only reason I haven't changed them is because I'm in the process of modding the (notoriously bright) DRRI to give me less ice pick. Also I'm gunna take the Strat to a shop and plug it in some amps known to be sweet and warm. If I'm still unhappy with the sound of the SCN's I'll be bugging the blokes here for some Apache/Sultans/MM's.

I think it's the SCN's though because my Tokai LP with the Mules into the DRRI sounds great.

Mr_Pig is correct the SCN are noiseless but (I'm sure he's also saying) BIG DEAL.
