Mojotone DW Tomahawk Gen. 2 bridge...
« on: May 14, 2024, 07:45:00 PM »
For context (not that it really matters), I was given this pickup by my brother-in-law.  He didn't like it in his PRS DW hard tail, so I swapped it out for him.  Currently I'm trying it out on my new fiddle (alder, maple parts caster, pretty standard).

Pros:
- Smooth and a bit smokey but still very, very excellent note separation.
- Well controlled bottom end that isn't sterile.
- Fast attack.
- Just touch sensitive enough to allow more expressive playing.
- Can chugga chugga when necessary while also sounding pleasant when played clean.

Cons:
- Doesn't clean up well with the volume knob.
- Truly belongs in brighter instruments.
- Won't hide any mistakes.

Overall not quite the sound I was expecting but one that's slowly growing on me.
