Yep - went really well, fitted it with VHII's and is now an amazing guitar. Better than any production guitar I've ever played, and it still hasn't been set up properly yet.

I went for the hard ash strat body and a maple/ebony Jackson style neck with precut graphite nut.

Didnt know that anyone here on the forum took the final step with ordering one. Dig the sound on the eruption clip, Brainzy, very good playing. But do you have any pictures of the beast??

Apart from the one in the avatar, not at the moment. I'm currently refinishing the neck, so although I've now got a camera I can't take any completed pictures just yet. Once the neck's finished though I'll do a full write up with lots of pics etc.

Yes, I have - been playing it for the last few weeks.  Chose a body & neck from the showcase, had to wait only 3 weeks (the sales guy told me 4-6 weeks) - I got them to put a finish on the neck, rout the body for a Wilkinson trem & install the studs.  Both the body & neck were fantastic quality, very pleased with the service.

The building (well, assembly would be a better word, I only had to do a small amount of drilling & sanding) went fairly smoothly for a first effort.

It has a Miracle Man bridge, Sultans in the middle/neck & sounds great  :D

I'll add a pic if I ever manage to take a good one...  :)

I'm actually waiting (8-12 weeks... damn) on another body for my first Warmoth project, it went brilliantly and I'd do it againif I needed another guitar. Worth doing, although the initial wait can be a pain in the bum, they weren't this busy last year I can tell ya.

Sorry Jappse, I completely forgot I had these. I took pictures of the hard ash Warmoth body before I painted it up. It's routed so I can use an angled humbucker in the bridge position, or a normal one instead.

Not bad, not bad. Im basicly just wondering about pre-cut pieces, so im trying to get a decent knowledge about this. Maybe ill get something from warmoth sooner or later... need a floyd-rose guitar...

Thanks for the pics of the body, would greatly appreciate a photo of the finished product.

The connections on the Warmoth parts are absolutely top notch - the neck fits into the neck pocket *exact*, like the two parts were made for each other, even though I bought the body a few months later. Fantastic work - the parts just scream "well made".

I'll definately get you some pics of the finished product, I just need to get this nitrocellulose lacquer ordered....

I might eventually get a finished body and neck from them. Warmoth is a great way to get a custom, high end quality guitar for relatively low costs.

I've added up prices it'd cost me to get a custom guitar from them - with paint and all the hardware and electronics etc. and it always turns out at a stupidly high price unless you cut down on the options - it'd be tough getting your dream guitar for less than £1500. and yu still have to build it yourself! (i think? maybe if yu buy a complete they put it together for you?) Either way I think some Felines go for less than that! A lot of the time it seems more sensible price-wise to go for a cheaper guitar and pimp it. If the price doesnt bother you its probably better to get a custom luthier to build yu what you want.
EDIT: i accept that it'd be a lot of fun building your own guitar and you'd probably learn a lot
LOVING the Mules!

Not sure how you arrive at £1500 - my last one cost <£1000 & I didn't skimp:

£585 for finished body & neck, pickguard, LSR nut & a bag full of gold hardware/screws/bits (wilkinson trem, schaller tuners, etc)
£128 import tax/VAT
£220 BKPs (Miracle Man, 2x Sultans) - yes, a sensible person would've just got an HSS set for £190, but I'm not a sensible person :D

OK, add in the case (£72 for an SKB-66) & it just gets over £1000, but you see my point...

My next one will probably run to around £150 more (having a neck made rather than picking out of the showcase & a Floyd which is $100 more than the wilkinson) but I'd be hard pushed to get to £1500 :)
