BKP92 equivalent
« on: October 17, 2024, 11:31:08 AM »
Hi all, i've got an old BKP92 that I really like.  Unfortunately they're no longer made and I can't seem to find anything that's equivalent in the current offerings.
Does anyone know if it's wound with 42 or 43 AWG wire because its a lot darker than the BKP91?

The Supermassive is definitely your best option for the thicker, darker tone of the BKP92.

The BKP92 did use 42AWG coil wire, but switching up to 43AWG for the Supermassive brought the overall coil size down and, in combination with its slightly oversized Alnico v magnets, that tightened up the low end response somewhat, with a bit more punch through the midrange, without brightening up those thicker highs.
Hi all, yes, it's another Tim! I'll be here to answer any questions you want to throw at me, here or via sales@bareknucklepickups.co.uk
