Guys so I basically bought a practise amp, its a line 6 spider mark 2, 15 watter. Basically it sounds like utter rubbish, worst amp I ever used or owned. I know my guitar kicks arse but this thing sounds like a bee in a jam jar, £110 not well spent.
Damn back to square 1 with the whole practise amp thing. My keely distorsion pedal doesn't even work with it.

Absolutely gutted :(

Send it back and get an Epiphone Valve Junior and a Dano Fish and Chips EQ and rock with 5 watts of valve power.
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

what settings are you using? I found boost into a Crunch channel (the red LEd one) was not too bad a tone.
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away...

haha you should have learned to steer clear of line6 by now muso! :P I'll second the epiphone valve junior idea - great little amp for the moneys.

If you want to spend a bit more but get a top notch sounding practice amp, get a Fender Blues Jr or a Peavey Classic 30.  All tube and they both sound great!

I had a Line6 SpiderII head and could get many VERY passable tones out of it - I've owned most of the classic amps too so I know how it compares to them.  The Fender clean was pretty close and the Hiwatt tone was certainly in the ballpark, Marshall was very average and the OTT overdrive was great.

You basically need to give them some volume to get the speaker working.

I will sent it back today and hopefully get a full cash refund.

Why is it so hard to find a half decent amp, I just want a nice clean channel and a JCm800 turbo marhsall sounding gain in a practise amp. Ive tried cornford and didn't get on well and a peavy 5150.

bah humbug

This is a very good suggestion, I actually just ordered the exact same thing but added an overdrive pedal(not sure if I will need it).

I played bass through someone elses Line6 Lowdown bass amp at a gig the other week.  I'm sure a roaring Ampeg stack would have sounded better, but the Line6 sounded at least very good indeedand was super easy to get set up and into the mix (line out to the PA, onboard speakers for sound onstage, and that speeds up the soundcheck pretty handily).

So I was favourably impressed by the value-for-convenience option. Even if I had the money for a roaring Ampeg stack, I'm not sure how the hell I'd transport it; I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted to wrestle it up the flight of stairs at that venue! ;)

All things have their place, I suppose.  Tool for the job.  Were I a rich rock star with piles of roadies and techies to worry about this stuff, of course, it wouldn't matter  8)

haha sorry but cant agree with you on that... you cant say that a company's entire range of products is shitee just cause you didnt like their UBER CHEAP practice amp...

what was your description again...

" just want a nice clean channel and a JCm800 turbo marhsall sounding gain in a practise amp"

... a 'turbo' JCM800 with nice cleans for £110?  :?
