The best thing about the Vox is that it is really vocal- just has that "human" voice quality about it and I find that allows more "emotion" to be expressed.

And Michael Schenker used to use one.....

I have the Vox 847.

Pros,

1. It sounds fantastic, but see point 2 under Cons.
2. It's built tough.
3. It's pretty inexpensive for quality really.

Cons,

1. No DC input, only 9v battery.
2. It's not a bypass pedal, ie it sucks tone out (badly) even when switched off.

Still, there's nothing that sounds like it, it's just, well erm, that good.

This pedal is ace
Modify it with a hardwire bypass switch and add a DC 9V adaptor
there are websites dedicated to wah mods!

'Tis ace indeed, and worth modifying, it's on my to do list, as soon as I can detach it from my foot for long enough!

Get the Vox.

Definitely.  Hearing a Cry Baby after using a Vox is like using no wah at all.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

I have one and I cannot say that it sucks any tone whatsoever.  The only problem with it is that I had a distortion pedal that if I ran the Vox in front of, when I turned the pedal it on I would get silence even with the wah off.
