Messy Music Room 1

This is just for Davey!  He had requested to see the room where I keep the guitars.  It really is undergoing a rationalisation (that's why I have a lot of my amps in the living room!).  However, at the moment it is a complete mess.

When I do get it organised (I have TO coming to help), then it will be ready to record in again.  I  have to put some stuff into storage for a while.  I have builders in the house and have to clear space for them to finish their work!

NO fair, Phil ... you neatened up before you snapped the pics! ;)

WOW ... that room needs an intervention! Let's get to it after Peter's wedding, since we have so much testing and recording planned for the Summer.

Phil - you've made my day  :)  - I didn't think there could ever be a room that was more untidy than the one I keep my gear in   Do you ever have problems finding your way out after you've been in there for a practise?

Congratulations keep up the good work  :!:

Too many to list!  I have started to get some of the older cheap guitars (Airline, Silvertone, Harmony).  The old ones with the DeArmond, Gibson or Danelectro pickups sound really nice.  I can see why Jack White plays them.

I also have TO's Kamakazie in there, waiting for the new neck to arrive.

30 years of collecting guitars and stuff takes up a lot of space!

Yes - everything out into the living room, figure out what goes into storage and what stays.  The guitars will be the hardest!

That's what I will be doing with TO, so we can work on some demo tracks in there.  I am setting up a couple of computers (one with Sonar and one with soft synths and processors), to run it.  The room is almost all wired.  The problem I ran into was mains hum.  There are power lines outside the house and i was getting hum through the system.  I had an electrician run me some new circuits and put in a new ground.  I am hoping that it will fix the problem.  I haven't had it set up since the work was done.

going to catalogue everything once its ready to be cleaned up?
i (and i'm sure lots of others) are interested as to what is hidden in all that mess. you might even find something at the bottom of the pile you havent seen in ages.

I think that I actually know everything I have!  However one thing I think I will do is mark on the outside of the case what guitar is in it.  With several cases looking the same, it sometimes gets confusing that way.  I will also be taking a few pictures and getting details for the new insurance.  I have to have all the guitars appraised to finalise the policy.  Ben will have fun playing some again I think.  I am sure there are still some he hasn't played (other than the basses and some accoustics).
