Anyone like these guys?  They're basically one of Devin Townsend's (Vai vocalist) projects, and go full on for the heavy, HEAVY side of things.

Anyway, here's a freebie MP3 from their new album, which is a bit of a piss-take of the laughable way teen metal sceners tend to say everything sucks (indysmith take note ;))

Here's a highly amusing video from one of his solo albums too:

Seeing SYL (or Devin solo) live is like being stuck in one of those giant wind tunnels they use to test aircraft. An awesome, if slightly scary experience.

Yeah, I saw them live in London a few years ago.  They were pretty good fun: effin' heavy, incredible technique, and quite often very silly.  They sort of teeter on the edge of self-parody (and know it), kept from tipping over by just being stupendously good players

Woah, their tone has really changed on the new stuff. Pretty crazy song too. I quite like it  :D

Always loved SYL. City is probably my favourite album. They blew away every band when i saw them support Arch Enemy not too long ago. Just better stage presence, a good laugh and super tight.  :D

I don't blame him. He seems to work a hell of a lot with so many band projects as well as running a production company and other things. Though i hope the break isn't for too long  :D

Its amazing!!! Different to Alien, more metal and less extreme maybe? But still  damn heavy with Devins trademark humour :P

I bloody love Devin! And SYL for that matter.

Terria is an amazing album, fantastic to listen to on a sunny day, just close your eyes and let it take you away!

I also happen to have 'found' The New Black, and its quite good, I perfer City and Alien to it, but its still fantastic, Far beyond metal is a great track.

I'm seeing them at download on friday, I seriously can't wait!

I think the Devin stuff is really awesome. Started with Ocean Mashine and then got everything except Accelerated Evolution.
My favourite would probably be Terria, even though there's great stuff on all the records.
I also own City by SYL and I like to play Oh my f%"§$ing God to scare unwanted guests away

What I think is really interesting is, that SYL, while beeing heavy as 'a really heavy thing'    still have that typical Devin epic-ness and the cool melodies. So to me they are fairly easy to listen to.

Will have to go and see them live one day...
