Just bought my first PRS
« on: June 03, 2006, 05:09:56 PM »
I went out today thinking that i wouldn't buy anything and just keep saving money to get a custom guitar made for me. But then the devil made me look at a PRS Standard 24 in cherry finish. I never liked PRS' before but this one was just too awesome to not buy it. It cost me £900 in the end with only a few little nicks in the finish but you can't notice it till you get right up close to it. Here's a picture from the shops website

It's actually alot nicer looking up close and i'll take better pictures soon. I was close to buying an ESP Ltd EC-1000, but it wasn't too versatile and it was more looks than tone. Deffinatly not worth £900. I'm a happy chappy  :D

seriously, though, good score, man. I'll have to get to try some of the PRS CE's. And I agree that LTD's are way too dear over here...

I have played only one PRS, and it was a Custom 24, but it was sharp as a tack, and clean as a whistle. Great buy and great looking guitar. Thanks for the post up and pic.

Tim was there?

(Sorry, Tim, the other thread made me say it).   ;)

Nice guitar though, man.  I nearly bought one myself once.  I found it second-hand in a furniture shop, would you believe.  But I hadn't been playing the guitar at all for a while and I figured I didn't need another one to not play.

I have one just like it - I put Rebel Yell's in it and they sound oustanding.  I know you factored in the cost of a set of BK's

Thanks for checking it out boys. I had to go to work last night and i didn't get in till 7 this morning. And i only woke up about an hour ago so i haven't had alot of time to play it. But even at work i couldn't wait to get home and play it, it's a shame i have work again this afternoon and won't be back till the morning

not sure what you mean by that mate   bit confused there.

I've had some more time with the PRS now and i love it. The resonance is amazing and the clean tone is also amazing. By the way, i ended up doing a 19 hour shift that day i had to go back to work. 2 in the afternoon till about 7 or 8 the next morning. I was f*cked!    luckily i got some time off now and hopefully won't be working till the weekend

PRS guitars rock!  I drooled over them for years before finally getting one (Custom 24, Blue Matteo, Wide/Thin neck)  :D  Glad you like yours - when I got mine I had to rush straight from the shop back to work, spent the entire day fighting the urge to stop what I was doing, get the case from under my desk & play

& I love Coda Music - particularly the Stevenage shop - every time I go in there I find myself wanting to spend a fortune
