Not really into the F-series, though I do love what ESP is doing in the guitar business. Great guitars. I'm in the lead for a John Petrucci Music Man on Ebay right now. So...things are looking up!

The Jems with the vine inlays look classy.

That's what I use.  And I personally am a huge fan of the Evolution pickups as well, but they're not for everyone...
Real men turn their volume to 11!

This is what I'm told. I just realized that there's no way I'm going to be able to get my Petrucci guitar  oh well. I'm going to have to settle for some NEW BKPs! Good times and bad times, you know I've had my share. (That goes out to old Plant and Page!)

Why can't you have a Petrucci guitar? :(

Try a Vigier excalibur.
I own a Custom model and it's one of the best guitar i've ever played so far.
Excellent for shred,punk,pop,blues.
Vigier's Floyd is one of the best.
I tried a kramer, esp and stuff but nothing comes close to a Vigier.

For your price range have a look at Schecter, C-series and 006 series.

I play a 006 blackjack. It has:
mahagony body,
24 fret set neck (looks like neck through, very comfortable)
Two Hums.
And it looks cool in my opinion.
Very nice guitar

Have a look at the Lag guitars, they do a nice looking range of superstrats the Arkane series.

I tried one of the Jet series and for the money it felt brilliant, but it was only through a micro cube and it was equipped with Lag pickups so I can't truely speak about tone.

Though from the catalogue the Roxane series are more my cup of espresso but the local shop don't stock them yet.

Rob...

By "local shop" do you mean "Northern Ireland", and by "don't stock them yet" do you mean "plan to"?

I'd like to get to try some of those, just for the experience as TO/Ben would say, if nothing else.
