Sorry Tim....couldn't resist

Forum Bro Steve was selling his Slowhands and knowing that I was considering them he asked me if I'd be interested and I was. So now my Sonic Blue Jap 1960's reissue has them as Steve very kindly put them in for me whilst we chatted. I have not given them much of a play yet but have a rehearsal on Wednesday and a gig next weekend and I will put it through its paces then. It'll be interesting to compare it to my Apache Strat- so far, from memory, the SH's are more mid rangy. It has that great Fender "snap". I suspect that this guitar will get played a lot more now. Thanks again Steve-you are a gent and don't worry Tim, it means my Precision bass is next in line.

ooo slowhands :) i'm still thinking about which singles i wanna get for my HSS strat (i know, you're gonna say it's wrong to put a bucker in a strat but i don't care  ) at the moment i'm thinking the Crawler and Mothers Milk set, but i'm sure Tim would let me switch them for Slowhands if i wanted (maybe)

I put a Slowhand in the neck position of my Tele, along with a Brown Sugar bridge.  It is a great combo.  I also have one as the middle pickup in a MQ/Slowhand/Mini Mule set.

Everyone who hears it likes the Slowhand.  I think they sound better than Irish Tours, but then I like the darker sound a bit more.

Mind you I still haven't heard the Mother's Milks in the flesh yet!
So many pickups, so little time

I have no problem with a HB in a Strat but wouldn't do it myself. I have been out tonight and have noot yet had a chance to play the 2 Strats together ( Apache and Slowhand) but I can't wait to. I can see how a Slowhand would work in a Tele Phil. I suppose now I shall have to get another Strat for some mother's milks and a couple more Tele's ( I wish!).

Your strat sounded wicked with the slowhands Steve!
A really full sound, darker than a standard set but you could hear every note.
Nice meeting you today.
Mule,Trilogy,Irish Tours,Holy Diver and Apaches.
