Argh! My TF200 is too bassy!
« on: June 08, 2006, 09:56:53 PM »
Well, after enjoying my lovely TF200 for a few months, i began to notice it was very bassy compared to other tones.
I've tried angling it differently, i've tried using some overdrive to "boost" my tone, but it still seems a little...rumbly.
I've also noticed that my reverb is broken, but let's concentrate on my bassy-ness first.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps some not so bassy, lower output pickups would do the trick well too?

There are always mods that can be done for that if you like the general tone of the amp aside from that.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.

Amps can have too much bass??  :?  Rumble is a bad thing ???  :?  :?
Play a bright bridge pickup through it and you should get a great tone (ask Frusciante).

ENGL=Next amp for sure!

The tone is improved slightly by using the bridge pickup, but then the gain and distortion starts to sound a little "rockey".
I've lost some sustain, but meh, until i find a solution it will teach me to play better...right?

In my experience  Laneys seem to be voiced for single coil pickups
When play9ing with a humbucker I always found them a bit wooly & bass heavy.

I never figured out if it was the amp or the H/H speakers they used, but always seemed much bassier than a Marshall.

My experience too. This is why my LC50 must be altered for the72 deluxe tele. Maybe I should ask if Tim can make a p-90 in that shape and style.
