4 clips, though not very refined, as the whole recording set up and recording were done in a rush.

Overall these are to demonstrate the major strengths of the PUps:
-Bark
-Cut/Clarity
-Balance
-Low Noise

Setup was the Les Paul through a ZVEX Fuzz into ENGL Screamer, recorded through a Palmer The Junction DI box and a T.Bone ambience mic.

Yeah, sounds good. What pups were in originally? I've got a Junior Special with Gibson P-100s that sounds perfect as it is, and very similar to your clips.

Gibson P90s. But they were noisy and thin. Meanwhile I had EMG-P81/60s in it, which had more balls but was sterile. The BKPs (as usual) hit just the right spot between clarity and oomph.

Loved em all, the fuzz sounds pretty cool, and I dont normally like fuzzes! The crunch and heavy ones were awesome, I didnt imagine an Engl to sound like that atall! You got me interested in a Screamer now :P Noticed a bit of Zeppelin in there too :D

The Screamer has a wide range. Usually I like to scoop mids and use more presence, then the sound is bigger, more modern, with lots of bottom and ... well ... high-end scream:)

But if you dial in the mids and back of treble and presence, the peak frequency shifts towards more marshall-esque, which I like more, especially because the clean channel has a fuller sound and the lead cuts through the band much better.

Yeah it was more Marshally than I expected.. Just need to know if the combo sounds similar to the head version, I must add this to the list of amps I want when I have money :P

Hm, Combo will be pretty much the same, except for the speakers. Keeping in mind that 50% of the tone you heard cam from a DI box, the difference will be minimal.

I like 2x12 cabs, they are more complex than 1x12 but you don't have to crank to insanity to have the speakers move air.

The one I used here was a closed Heritage with reflex openings and one V30 (this is in the Combo) and one G12H30.

can definately hear the trademark p-90ness in these... this is cool cause i might be getting a screamer and have the same pup(s) as you in a similar guitar... so now i know 'twill sound great if i do get the screamer...
