Other day I went to plug into my amp as usual and the 'socket' part that you plug into fell away from the hole and so is hanging free in the ampaway from the hole now.

I've tried using magnetised screw drivers and everything but its nigh on impossible to get it back through.

Now question is is there any easy way to repair this, how can you take the amp apart it seems like the studs on the corner joints are there to basically tell anyone not to open it.

its still under warranty but rather than sending it back to marshall, is there an yway i can sort it cos it as its a bit of a messaround sorting out sending it back and everything.

these things arent meant to be opened easily :(

i had a similar problem with a Randall combo amp... it was quite easy to open once i had all the screws (aboud 12 of em??) out...

i've never seen an AVT100 up close so couldnt really help..

looks like a send back matey :(

I'd agree, send it back- if you open it yourself you might invalidate the warranty.

The amp chassis is usually held by 4 lo9ng bolts either from the top or sides

Undo these and it will fall away or be able to be gently prised awayy from the cabinet.

I'm assuming that you have simply lost the nut and washer from the front of the amp and that the jack has fallen in as opposed to it being broken away from the circuit board inside.

Where are you - there is probably a tech who can help you with it - often very wise to avoid poking around inside an amp as dangerous voltages lurk inside - even after unplugging etc

I took the chassis out of my AVT100 the other day just to have a look.
You just have to undo the four large crosshead bolts on the top of the amp, and carefully slide the chassis out backwards. Make sure it's off and you disconnect the speaker. It doesn't do it any damage whatsoever.

Now I'm in risky territory here, but as I understand it solid state amps are way less dangerous to poke about in than valve - I did a lot of poking about in mine with no probs. But don't quote me on that, obviously

Just don't touch anything you don't have to just to be sure.

If I was in your situation there's no way I'd pay a tech to do the job, 'cos you'd be paying him to undo some bolts, slide the chassis out, push the plug back through, slide the chassis back in again and bolt it back up.
