Line 6 Pod - Into a stereo?
« on: June 12, 2006, 02:38:57 AM »
Yeah, its me again, with another questions, sorry!

Can you run a Line 6 Pod through a stereo? I know that if you want to run one into a speaker cabinet you need a poweramp, but I was wondering if you could run in straight into a stereo, and if so, what lead would you do that with, and what inputs would the stereo require.

Thanks!

hmmmm well i havent tried it with a POD, but i tried it with a little Zoom recording unit which had in-built modelling capabilities...

you need a cable that goes from headphone-jack size, to two RCA (i think its rca not sure) jacks- red and white i think they are.

Yes you can. As long as you have a auxillary input on your stereo. Just get a jack to phono lead and you are away.
I use my stereo for monitoring when i do my demos.

You can run it into any fullrange system. In general you should not run the HiFi close to its power peak, as single Instruments have a far higher dynamic than music from CDs (which is maximised, compressed, etc).

So never play any higher than 1/2 the power of the amplifier, as otherwise, there's a danger of you blowing the amp or the speakers.

Otherwise should be OK. I have great results playing through my active speakers.

I play my Pod through my stereo all the time, just use whichever lead will fit, I got a 2xjack to 2xphono for mine. Make sure it's set for direct though, otherwise it wont sound right.
