What exactly is "Etching"?

Does this mean you can have your initials or whatever etched onto the covers, or is it just the BKP logo?
Does anyone have any pics of this?

Etching is kinda the same as engraving. It's done by a computer. You can have the BKP logo's etched on for free. You initials or whatever is also possible. This will cost extra because the design has to be traced and put into the computer. I've heard this is £20,- tops.

There are some pics throughout this forum. There's one topic called Etched Black Covers.

its only the custom engraving that costs extra, our logo is no extra.

this is the topic with a pic.

this can be done to all humbucker covers.

The actual etching is done by laser so stock fonts aren't too bad bad, custom artwork attracts a charge of £25 p/hour to set up.

if i were to want the logo etched onto my covers when i order, how would i go about putting that on the order form that i dont want anything custom, just the BKP logo? would you still do it for free/pretty cheap if i wanted just the initials BKP instead of the whole lot? And are the only colours you can do black or white, or do you do engravings aswell, i think that might look more classy  :D

Just click the engraved option on the order form. All of our covers are laser etched, it looks like engraving. we can do it to any metal cover, the colour of the writing is the same colour as the metal used to make the cover.
we can do the BKP logo, im not shure how much it is, not alot.

ahh i thought that the laser etching was like "drawing" something onto the cover. So it'll leave like an imprint kinda thing, so when your run your finger over it you can feel it? sorry thats the best descrription i can think of haha

It burns a very small amount of the metal away, but yes, you can feel it if you run your finger across it!
