Moving neck pup to bridge position?
« on: June 13, 2006, 08:25:50 AM »
I have a LP with a Miracle Man set and have though about getting something else for the neck position (not sure what yet). Could I then use the Miracle Man that was in the neck position in another guitar but in the bridge position? Is it a lot different to the existing bridge MM?
MM set, warpig set, about to be fitted - custom 7 bridge 'pig, CS7 neck.

i think it's a completely different wind, and a different magnet (alnico V??). In my head it just wouldn't work. Worth a shot i guess. Depending on the condition of the pickup you might be able to trade it with Tim for a bridge one, or at least part-exchange maybe? You'd have to ask someone that knows what they're talking about though :P

stick it in and see what it sounds like, just because it was designed for the neck doesnt mean it wont work in the bridge, just get a different tone all together i put a vh2 neck in the bridge of one of my guitars and it sounded fantastic
