Big or small, every man has to have one.
« on: June 18, 2006, 02:37:57 PM »
I had a lazy sunday afternoon at home and decided to tidy up my workshop. I got bored once the sun went down and took some photo's.

Its a bit basic at the moment, I'm trying to finnish it but its a slow process... $$$$ are better (more responsibly) spent else where. Or so my wife tells me.

For those interested Heres an update shot of the fluffy guitar.

The neck is a cheapo thing but I want to learn refretts on it and how to refinnish the back, so its perfect.

Anyway If anyone has picks of their "creative workspace" I wouldnt mind seeing.

Call me simple but my motivation for music has been a bit low lately and mucking around  out here calms and sort of "sorts me out"

My garage has a dual function.

I've stuck a PC in it and also made a custom control pane, so I can either play the original game or several thousand others in emulated forml.

I'm jealous of that game machine and the bike!  Ah well.  I have a pool table, but not in a garage.  In fact, I don't even have a garage.

I use a special video card to drive the arcade monitor, called the ArcadeVGA.  For the controls I use an adapter that basically translates the stick/key presses into keyboard controls.  So you can technically play any game that lets you define keys.

Both those components I got from www.ultimarc.com

£50 (a collector was trying to clear one of his lockups)

Although I did end up spending a couple of hundred on a new monitor as the original had an intermittent fault.

For a cab frontend menu system I use MAMEWAH which just runs in Windows.

As to the emulators:

Arcade = MAME
Commodore 64 = WinVICE
ZX Spectrum - Klive
Atari ST = STeem
Commodore Amiga = WinUAE
Sega (MasterSystem, GameGear, Genesis, SegaCD) = Kega Fusion (written by my mate Steve Snake)
PC Engine = Magic Engine

How about one of these:

I'd like a bike, but--apart from this last winter--the weather's often no good for riding here.

As guitarists, I'm shocked and disgusted that you guys have superbikes and not choppers or nice harleys :(

So Twinfan is yours a single seat version? or is it a biposto?

The reason I was teasing sercher is that I'm a bike salesman and have access to quite a lot of bikes.... I tried starting a biker thread but theres not enough bikers to keep it going.

Tom :!:  I'll thankyou for not swearing within earshot of me ever again :!:

A harley is to a sportsbike rider is what a bass guitar with one string is to Satriani.

Sometime in the mid 1940's engineeres figured out liquid cooling and overhead camshafts. Harley still havent!
