MUHAHAHA!! Super Evil Nailbombs!
« on: June 27, 2006, 05:38:43 PM »
I was recording a SRV style bluesy thing and stumbled on some other cool sounds in my Line6 XT Live and knocked this thing together. It was going to be a Dream Theater type thing but ended up sounding a bit like Slayer. Its quite short (about 1 min) but it's got some serious crunch!

Yo that kicked ass! I liked the style. Actually good music this time around.

I didn't know Nailbombs could sound tight like that.

Cheers! It's using my old Charvel, I can't wait to finish the other track using Irish Tours, it's so completely different. It's such a versatile guitar now.

The recording is actually 3 guitars panned left right and centre, the left and right aren't hard left/right, just about 40%. The left and right are two different patches using the Line6 Spinal Puppet amp and the centre is a Lunatic amp, the patches I got from Fremens Bundle on line6 forum.
This is connected to a Presonus Firebox recording interface and then in to Garageband on the Mac. Each guitar on its own sounds quite different but they work together well I think.

Thanks again.
They are tight but there's real midrange grind and grit that I love, loads of harmonics and not sterile. When I read about people saying they love their pickups I understand why.
