miracle man or warpig??
« on: July 11, 2006, 05:54:54 PM »
i want a tone similar to arch enemy, at the gates (melodic death metal)
i know i want either miracle man or warpig...but to be specific - i want to cut through the mix when live and recording, i want it to be good with low tunings (dropped C), good mid range and low end, harmonically rich and capable of great distortion.

i am soon getting a peavey 6505 to go with some beautiful pickups ;)

OHH and im not a massive fan of a 'scooped' tone either.

thanks in advance!!

Miracle Man will easily cope with quite hefty detuning so no worries there.Another option well worth considering is the new revoiced Holydiver.Maliscious Steve is a big melodic death metal player and he loves his!

A warpig will do that very well.

Then so would a miracle man.

Hmmmmm. I play simliar music a lot of the time on both and the best pickup I found for it is.....an overwound, double screw pole miracle man. My advice would be to ask for double screw pole for more low end (and you can EQ the pickup to a degree) and about 20-23k output (23 is what I got, and its just barely starting to compress noticably over the normal model).

I say Miracle Man as Arch Enemy Michael Amott guitarist uses not very powerful Seymour Duncans if my sources serve me correctly.
Black Dogs

Previous BKP's: Riff Raff, Holy Divers, Painkillers, C. Warpig, Nailbomb, Miracle Man.

sounds really good. did u have to tweak it or anything, are there any limits you can go up to? because it was a cab designed for a 100w head.
asking because im looking into that combination of head n cab.

ALSO...what pickups were you using (and what tuning)   in your video where u had your hair down (not in ponytail) and you could see the 5150?

Hails Man
well, i didnt notice that ahahahahah(the 120x100 watts thing)
in the studio, everything works smooth, but in my room(lots of space and reverb) it gets kinda + bright.. and sometimes i think the output overpowers the cabinet.. but that just happens in my room, without the propper isolation and etc.
what do you think?
on that video, it was the charvel with stock jackson j50 humbcuker.
