nailbomb and mississippi queen combo
« on: July 12, 2006, 03:00:08 PM »
Iv been advised for the nailbomb and mississippi queen combo on my guitar as i am looking for some customisations to my guitar. Iv been told this will get me a good muse-ish type sound but i was wondering if anyone has tried this or knows what it sounds like. This is the first time iv looked into changing my pickups so any help would be extreamly helpful to me
cheers!

well i got the MQ in the neck of my Les Paul, and it sounds fairly bluesy, good for soloing mainly, wouldn't know about the NB, never played it

its weird cos the guitar i play with which is a yamaha rgx420s; i find amazing and have some great pedals and can practically imitate matts sounds off the majority of all there songs. i can't imagine a better sound but there must be because i have just used the guitar as i bought it which was only £250 :?

Not only will Bks sound better, but the they respond so well to your every movement, it's like they"feel" better too.    I have a bridge Nailbomb and it sounds righteous, clean, dirty, filthy, and split for single.  In fact it sounds like a more cutting/biting humbucker when it's split single.

I'm also going for a MQ in the neck and a Nailbomb in the bridge of my LP Silverburst. I think it's going to be a good combination. MQ will be great for cleans and fuzz, the Nailbomb will be better for distortion and leads. I saw a Manhattan HB sized p-90 in the picture section, anyone know anything about how these differ from the MQ?

This isn't a very good pic but you get the idea, it's also pretty dirty here but it cleaned up nicely. I love having a guitar that was made the same year I was born (1979)  :D
