thats a pretty sweet guitar im just so curious to find out what difference putting new pickups in my guitar will make iv only ever used the ones that come with the guitar. does anyone know what humbuckers come with the yamaha rgx2402 i know there ceramic thats all

They will be yamaha-made models - Yamaha make good quality electrics for guitars so while they may sound good on their own, in comparison to a set of bare knuckle's there will be no contest. You're talking ford fiesta (does the job) to a ferrari here.

:D thanks alot for the help.. now i just have to finish raising the money to buy them and get them fitted. i take it that the only difference between the covered and open poled is that it is just a different look, which will not affect the sound?

I believe the Manhattan is a lower output P-90 designed for archtop jazz guitars.

I have a Warpig/P-90 combination in an explorer and it is a great setup. I have a series/parallel switch on the Warpig rather than coil tap, I like the sound of the Warpig in parallel mode. It is still powerful but with the lower midrange cut out and less output.

how come whenever im looking over the internet i can barely find any websites selling Mississippi Queens? Are they rare these days or not as good or something?

From my experience stores don't carry P90s as theyre not 'popular' enough, look at the number of guitars equipped with 90s on the wall of your local guitar store.

At least magazine staff have started to catch on (and the guitar mfgrs too) the joys of tone rather than sheer output.

Perhaps it will even become common to see pickups in stores other than the SD JB & 59 or the DiMarzio Super Distortion cos it's pretty dammed hard to find a store with a SD Pearly Gates available ;)

Ok thanks for the clarification on the Manhattan. Sounds like an MQ and Nailbomb it is for the Les Paul, I'm strongly leaning towards battle distressed covers for the Silverburst :twisted:

the annoying thing about the burnt chrome, camo and aged nickel pick ups are that they look sooo good yet they dont suit alot of guitars
