Boss GT-6 - Any good?
« on: July 14, 2006, 01:44:23 PM »
Hi,

Ive just bought some new Rebel Yells for my Ibanez and have a Marshall VS100R.

Does anyone have any experience with the Boss GT-6 multi-fx pedal?

My amp does sound good but I was wondering what the amp models within this pedal are like? Are the built in effects good?

Thanks in advance.

Have a Boss GT8.
Effects, think Boss quality pedals.
Amp models, very good (may be better) but there ya go.
Infinately 'tweakable', much much more so than other 'multi-fx modellors'.
Built like a tank.

In a word, yes.

I got a GT-3, because I was afraid thoe knobs on the '6 would break off with constant gigging. I used it EXTENSIVELY when I had my rack setup, and enjoyed it. It's now sitting in a box somewhere, and I've simplified my setup to gtr > OD > amp head.

The preamp model I found to be a bit more bland than sterile than Line 6's, but the effects like wah, reverb, and harmonizers are all great for the price. It has a good set up, once you know how to use it its really easy to change effects. It's strong, but the bypass filter sucks a lot of warmth out of your tone so watch out.
