Ok Ladies, Which pickup should I put into the bridge of my strat.

Im looking for something versitile, warm big, Harmonically full and it's gotta have a fair bit of output to match up to the Cold Sweat Neck model.

I've narrowed it down to these three.

From that list, I would go with the RY.

I play

Jazz, (Cold Sweat Covers this quite well)
Blues, (Irish Tour, Cold Sweat does this)
Metal, (CS neck sound is good, Bridge needs to be)
Thrash Metal, (Bridge Needs to cover it)
Fusion, (Think MacAlpine, Holdsworth)
Shred, (Petrucci, Vai, Satriani, Eklundh, Timmons, Gilbert)
80's Rock, (Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Extreme)
Pop, (Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Savage Garden)
Soul/70's (IT covers the clean sounds for this)
Progressive Rock. (Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Marillion)

does that help??? :S

This thing has to be versitile, powerful, rich and sing.

You probably need either to get two guitars and buy both, or prioritise the styles of music you play - to my mind you'd probably struggle to get all those tones from one pickup, but maybe I'm wrong

From what I've been told (when I was in the same situation) was to go for the HD...I play similar styles to you by the look of it, but I prioritised the 80s Rock and Prog Rock over the Metal, but I have been assured that the HD will do metal really well also

For these reasons the Holy Diver is going to be my recommendation to you

Metal isnt really a priority u can get a decent metal tone out of any pickup with enough drive behind it and the righ EQ'ing.. It's tone im thinking about more than face melting gain.. which is what the MM provides at the moment and unfortunatley it doesnt really do much else.

1st/ Nailbomb. Pure versatility.

2nd/ Rebell Yell. 'Coz it sings and can go from light to very heavy rock and shred. With a light PAF smell.

3rd/ Holy Diver. Don't own one, but it seems to have gobs and gobs of mids. And a very thick tone. Probably good, but less versatile.

My personal fave is the RY: it rocks but will not be the best for trash style. (I change my NB for a RY)

I have a Musicman Petrucci with a Holydiver bridge and Cold Sweat neck, F***ing amazing. Big fat juicy lead tone but still defined, matches cold sweat in humbucking mode perfectly. Have tried nailbomb in same guitar and sounds too abrasive compared to coldsweat. Holydiver is the one to go for !

I voted for the Holy Diver but I also think you're overlooking the Crawler for the amount of styles you want to cover.

I agree on the Crawler. It has more power than the Rebel Yell and might be the most versatile higher power pickup BK makes.

I was under the impression the RY was higher output than the Crawler...but tbh, it'll be by such a small amount you prolly wouldn't notice

And aren't the RY and CS neck models the same? 'cause by that logic the RY would be a good choice to match with your Cold Sweat

I still would go for the HD if it were me though
