They're a bit of a waste of money when you have a fixed bridge imo

+1

 :D Wrong !!

They will help make life easier when string changing. You won`t find yourself having to wrap the G B E strings around the peg inorder to stop the string from slipping. This is really helpfull when your in the middle of a gig !!

Fair enough :P

But when I said waste of money, I meant that the amount of money they cost to me doesn't justify the difference they make - I've never actually broken a string at a gig, but if I did I'd just switch guitars :P

Re prices: the Japanese list price for the spalted maple J-Custom is ¥315,000 (but I saw 2 in one shop, cheaper and better looking than the one on the website),
The jigsaws are ¥246,750 for the maple/maple and ¥231,000 for the maple/ovankol. That works out about #1473, #1154 and #1080 respectively(UK quids).
But don'te get too excited, the J-Customs are hard to get in the UK and when you do find them the price has magically gone up by several hundred pounds, and the jigsaws are very limited, 10 each in Japan. not sure about their availability overseas.

Hmm, what we could really do with is someone who lives in Japan that we could get to buy them for us and then ship them over...

Now who do we know that lives in Japan? :drink:
