I picked up the latest Rush DVD boxed set the other day, and have watched 2 of the 3 DVDs inside. There are actually 4 discs, the 4th being an audio-only CD of the Grace Under Pressure DVD.

This boxed set comprises of the first 3 Rush concert videos, Exit ... Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure, and A Show Of Hands. Both the picture quality and audio are phenomenal.

Highlights.

Exit ... Stage Left ...
Classic, old Gibson/Rickenbacker-era Rush. This video has THE definitive version of Freewill on it; it's scary how amazingly ferocious that song is!
Favourite tracks:

Xandadu
The Trees
Freewill

Grace Under Pressure
Geddy Lee plays a Steinberger, Alex Lifeson puts a few Strats through their paces. His main guitar, a black Strat, has either a Seymour Duncan Invader or a DiMarzio X2N in the bridge!! This is a much darker set than the firs video, lots of intense minor key songs. Bigger audience, bigger budget, lots 'o pyro!
Favourite tracks:

The Enemy Within
The Weapon
Witch Hunt
Vital Signs

Didn't get to the third video yet, but am looking forward to it!

Each video has its own miniaturized version of the original tour booklet. Lots of great background info, extensive gear lists, and great photos.

A must for any Rush fan, or even if you're curious about what all the fuss is about.

Sounds like a tempting package!

I saw them live last year in London and they rocked like b*stards.

Rush simply are awesome. I had to have both versions of the R30 package... just because!

The reply X3 set is fantastic. Got mine earlier in the week and I am loving all of it, although the Grace Under Pressure disc has had the most play thus far.

Speaking of the R30 discs... these guys are in their 50's now, yet play with an energy and a passion for there music that 99.9% of the younger bands out there today cannot even begin to approach. Oh... and Neal Peart... we are not worthy!

Quote - Bruce Dickinson:
How come bands that don't get any airplay sell out stadiums, yet bands that are all over tv and radios can't sell out a toilet, once they're on tour? Hmm.. you think it has something to do with good music?

:D Saw Rush on the 30th Ann tour. What a show. They outplayed & outrocked all of the current Rock/Metal bands i`ve seen. Simply stunning !

Good to know there's  some Rush fans on here. Showing my age now but seen Rush many times, the first was 1979- hemispheres tour at Stafford!

Lifeson has always been one of my fav. tone meisters
