Best one I've bought?  AC/DC - Back in Black.  Or Rammstein - Mutter.  Loving them both at the moment!

I haven't bought any "new" music this year!

^ :o

I bought the edge of thorns savatage one, and it's a strong contender, though to be fair, I haven't bought much new music this year (EDIT: and by new music, I mean new CD's for me, not music released this year, lol). The other contender would probably be the best of kings x, though tr00 music fans probably don't count that as an album...

Contenders for the best of 2006 so far:

Nocturnal Rites, Grand Illusion
Cellador, Enter Deception
Joe Satriani, Super Colossal
Coheed & Cambria, Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV

With new albums coming out by Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian and Marty Friedman, 06 is shaping up to a great year thus far!

I haven't heard anything much this year that I'd want to buy.  Willo recommended a guy called Marc Ribot who was actually pretty good, though I wasn't really in the mood for that kinda music then.  I'll prolly check him out again another time and see if my tastes have changed.

I borrowed All of Our Names by Sarah Harmer today and it's ok, but I don't think I'll buy it.

I did download an album by a guy called Thomas Blug who is really worth listening to.  You can see some clips of him on youtube.com, too.  Kinda Satriani meets SRV sound.  And he has my ideal setup: vintage Strat into a H&K Triamp.

I have not bought much new stuff-only old albums that caught my eye and things I used to have but have lost (Bob Dylan, SRV, T Bone Walker etc) though I did buy an album by my old mate Mac (Ian Mclagan) of Ronnie Lane songs which was nice cos Mr Lane was an unsung hero of mine.

Avenged Sevenfold, City of Evil. Since they stopped screaming they've become my perfect band. I've got it in the car and I wish my journeys were longer  :o
