Here's the first one with my new Microphone.

Usual setup: Les Paul into Marshall using TS9 for extra grunt.

Microphone is a Shure SM57 into the computer.

Nice - what model Les/Paul Marshalls did you use?

It's quite a similar tone to the record, and Dan/Justin used stock Gibbo pickups (490Rs and 498Ts) I believe.  They're a bit brash for my tastes, and you seemed to captured that from your BKPs which surprises me.

I'd like to hear the same thing again but with less pre-amp gain and more power valve gain.  I reckon that'd smooth the tone out a touch and kick like a good 'un!

I'm surprised this song hasn't apeared earlier on this board.

Sounds great. The Black Dogs sound perfect for the song.

2004 Les Paul Standard into a Marshall DSL401. I've replaced the 12ax7 in V2 with a 12au7 to make it sound a bit more Classic Rocky.

Cheers guys,

I love the rawness of the clip, and nice playing!

It's bite you in the butt tone, nice growling going on there.

That's a great amp sound from that marshall 40 watter, I'd like to get one for live stuff, as I hate too many watts. Unless you're in Van Halen playing stadiums every night and 99% of guitarists arent.
