I do feel sorry for teachers at junior and senior school levels. At least at University (hmm, at least at Oxford and at least in my limited experience, I should have said!), the majority of people in your class actually WANT to know what you're trying to teach them!

AABC, although the C is in chemistry which I'm dropping, and I still have Further Maths to do, which by judging from my maths results will also be an A...

Which'll leave me with AAAB, which does me perfectly for Aeronautical Engineering at Southampton hopefully. (Applying this year).

I did 6 modules in maths this year, got A in all of them cept 1 which was 3 marks out. They took the top 3 grades and turned that into a maths AS, and left me with the last 3 to either turn into an A2, or to retake, improve them a bit, and then turn them into an A2, but since its allready an A overall, there's no point. Will probably end up retaking the module I didn't get an A in anyway, just for ego.

I nearly did Naval Archetecture at Southampton.  Went to the open day, looked around the department and then got rather drunk at a nice place just off campus, I think it had 'Pig' in the name.

If you need a hand with anything when you get there (because it doesn't matter how good at maths you are, turbomachinary and fluid dynamics are a right royal pain in the arse  :D) then drop me a PM and I'll see if I still remeber any of it.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Awesome man!

Appreciate it - And yeah I know, I only see the A levels and all my current knowledge as a tool to get into the uni of my choice. Once I get there, I expect everything I learn will be new hopefully.

Fluid Mechanics sounds like fun ;)

If I remember right, I was told Southampton is the best in the world for Naval engineering/architecture. I would have thought Portsmouth would have been better, what with the MASSIVE shipyard and stuff.

And similar subject I believe. History, Pol, Comms

To be fair, I failed one module in each subject (U) and the rest were B's and C's. My AS levels were worse marks in general, but better grades.

I undertook each exam in complete honesty, I did not prey upon my short term recollection, what I wrote is what I know
(I didn't revise )

I started that but dropped out- two of my mates who carried on got U and D respectively because the teacher was so shoite!

Yarp, teachers are alright. Its a bit of a bollucks subject though. Knowing how things should work, how they are taken advantage of, and how they don't work, compare and contrast between US and UK systems.

Basic policies covered, no opinion related / personal conclusion encouraged. I thought politics was about what the people want, not teaching 16-18yr olds on how to be career politicians without any view of the real world.

Yeah, I didn't revise either; although that's not really an excuse for doing badly at school. The fact that I hardly went in for 6th form is a good excuse

haha and mine, came out with 2 C's in IT and business studies in the end and got into an allright uni.. its kinda annoying because if I worked harder in Business in year 1 I would've got at least a B as I got all Bs in my stuff for year 2 but the AS year dragged it down.
