^ Feline groovy yeah!  :D

It's a Les Paul! I've always wanted a nice one so I thought it's time for action and no more stalling.

It wants a honey burst flame maple top. Ebony f/board SS 6100 frets. Abalone fret markers. The neck profile of my Charvel model 6  8) The burnt chrome Rebel Yells that I bought that went into the Epi. Then I can donate that to someone/where and ease my conscience!

Sperzel locking tuners. Straplocks. Chrome hardware.

Now for the sting in the project!!

A Ghost MIDI/Accoustic bridge see http://www.graphtech.com/prodghost.htm

Since reading about midi and investing time and money (trying) learning it all, it would be rude not to! Thanks for the idea Jonathon!

Sorry for the self indulgence of this thread but I'm sure you can empathise!

Brilliant Johnny!
I'm sure a lot of us here want a Feline guitar, and a LP with that extra neck access will be so nice! The midi/acoustic pickup is a great idea. I love guitar synth but have only tried the Roland pickup thing and it just wasn't tracking properly for me, probably because I play so fast (cue WFD style AHAHAHAHAHA laughter) but more likely it couldn't detect the guitar shop's gauge 8 strings. But I digress, I'd love a Godin for midi access but an LP seems really cool! :D  :D

So sounds like a cool concept? I'm open to ideas!

I've tried the Roland one at Dawsons in Reading. I thought it was great fun but didn't put it through it's paces as i didn't want to melt the poor thing! (joke)  This ghost baby sounds like a monster!

What can I call it?

If i was to ever order a les paul, i'd probably go with the features you've listed. A shredders les paul. Nice one

Are you making it a 24.75 or a 25.5 in scale? I am seriously thinking of getting a 25.5 in scale LP.  I was talking to Ben about it a couple of weeks ago.  I have to email Jonathan and check a couple of things out.

Sounds like you will have a great guitar.
So many pickups, so little time

Thanks Phil  :D

25.5, would that get me 24 frets? Plus it should work good for de-tuning?

What midi interface would you guys go for before it reaches a pc or a mac? A Roland V job?

Thanks Indy  :)

I'm not sure what epi it is but there are photos in Guitars, Amps & Effects somewhere.

I was going to donate it to a music trust along with a peavy backstage, but every man has his price!

Mind you that peavey came in handy at a party last night.

IF you're used to the 24.75 scale on your LPs you might want to stick with it or maybe go for a 25 inch to tighten it up, Zakk Wylde detunes to C with heavy strings on his LP. The 25.5 would tighten it up more and be like a strat, probably better if you want 24 frets.

As for a midi interface it depends what you want to use it for. I'd say a Roland style output is most useful. Then you can get GI-20 midi interface (or 2nd hand GI-10) if you want to connect directly to your computer or another midi device or a GR-20 if you want a multi FX style synth. I think the V systems are a bit of overkill. FYI John McLaughlin mostly plays with a midi pickup into a GI-10 and then straight into a Mac using software instead of an amp.
